SUMMARY:Classical Café for Primary Schools: Carnival of the Animals
DESCRIPTION:Join Musinc for a 50-minute interactive concert\, exploring French composer Camille Saint- Saëns’ delightful musical suite ‘The Carnival of the Animals’! \nAlison Gill will perform the various movements depicting a variety of animals on the piano\, whilst performer Jenny Chrisp creates live dance interpretations. The show will be narrated by Eleanor Mooney. \nThis concert will support the following areas of the Model Music Curriculum: \n– Musicianship: singing in unison\, performing actions alongside song and moving in time to the beat \n– Listening: a live performance of music from different traditions and composers\, learning about the instruments as well as the stories\, origins\, history and social context of the music \nThis concert will include live BSL interpretation. \nThis event is open to school groups and home educating families and has been designed with KS2 children in mind\, although is suitable for all primary aged children. \nPlaces are free. DESCRIPTION:Amplify is a free performance opportunity for young people aged 12-18 in a friendly and supportive event space. \nPlaying in front of an audience can be intimidating. Amplify is for you if you’re a young musician looking to try something out on a smaller scale and develop your confidence in a more laid-back setting. \nWe encourage young individuals to play for their family\, friends\, and fellow young musicians. You will also get the opportunity to watch bands and soloists from the Bandjam group based at Middlesbrough Town Hall. \nAll genres of music are welcome; your performance doesn’t have to be a completed song and could be music you’ve been working on recently and would like others to hear. \nOur MC will be present to offer their knowledge of the music industry and manage the performers during the event. \nHow to join as a performer \nPlease fill in this sign up form and we’ll be in touch to confirm your performance slot. \nParents and guardians will need to complete forms on behalf of under 18s. \nYou are required to bring your own instruments and cables for the performance. We will provide an electronic drum kit\, keyboard\, PA\, mics and other equipment. \nHow to watch the event \nAmplify is free to watch. The event will be supervised by staff.
