DESCRIPTION:Come and find out about careers in music! We’re hosting a careers panel at Middlesbrough Town Hall for secondary students. \nWe want young people from the Tees Valley to aspire to do amazing things! There are so many career paths available in music and we want to highlight what young people can achieve in our area. \nOur panel of local professionals will reflect the huge variety of musical professions available\, inspiring young people to think more about careers around their strengths and interests and pursue a career in music. \nWe’ll also have a number of stalls from post-16 education providers for young people to discuss music education in college and beyond. \nThe panel will be hosted by Shakk\, BBC Introducing presenter and musician\, with panellists: \n\nSarah Wilson\, Co-founder of Tracks Darlington\nJodie Nicholson\, Musician and Creative Practitioner\nIan Allcock\, Photographer\n\nFurther information \nThis event is open to all secondary-aged students as well as home educating families. \nQuestions for our panellists can be submitted in advance. \nThis event will include live BSL interpretation. \nPlaces are free. DESCRIPTION:Amplify is a free performance opportunity for young people aged 12-18 in a friendly and supportive event space. \nPlaying in front of an audience can be intimidating. Amplify is for you if you’re a young musician looking to try something out on a smaller scale and develop your confidence in a more laid-back setting. \nWe encourage both soloists and groups to play for their family\, friends\, and fellow young musicians. You will also get the opportunity to watch performers from the Bandjam group based at Middlesbrough Town Hall. \nAll genres of music are welcome; your performance doesn’t have to be a completed song and could be music you’ve been working on recently and would like others to hear. \nOur MC will be present to share their music expertise and manage the performers during the event. \nHow to join as a performer \nPlease fill in this sign up form and we’ll be in touch to confirm your performance slot. \nParents and guardians will need to complete forms on behalf of under 18s. \nYou are required to bring your own instruments and cables for the performance. We will provide an electronic drum kit\, keyboard\, PA\, mics and other equipment. \nHow to watch the event \nAmplify is free to watch. The event will be supervised by staff.
