SUMMARY:Classical Cafe: Trio Aquarelle
DESCRIPTION:Musicians Alison Gill (piano)\, Clare Crinson (flute) and Deb Thorne (cello) perform together as Trio Aquarelle and present a tribute to mark the 200th anniversary of composer Carl Maria von Weber’s death. \nThe trio will also perform toe-tapping Spanish dances from Moritz Moszkowski and the dreamy French Impressionism of Philippe Gaubert’s Trois Aquarelles (Watercolours). \nAbout the musicians:\nThe members of Trio Aquarelle are recognised performers and educators based in the North East of England. \nClare Crinson studied the flute at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and holds an MA in Musicology from Durham University. She enjoys a varied career as a performer and educator. As well as solo and chamber recitals\, she performs regularly as an orchestral flautist with groups such as the International Film Music Orchestra\, the British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and the Mowbray Orchestra. Clare is joint Director of Music at Durham High School as well as teaching flute students of all ages\, including undergraduates at Durham University. \nDeb Thorne plays cello\, having studied music at Clare College\, Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music. She was a member of the Royal Northern Sinfonia and now freelances on modern and baroque cello. \nAlison Gill is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music\, specialising as an accompanist and répétiteur. She collaborates regularly with the Chorus of the Royal Northern Sinfonia\, the Jervaulx Singers and as an accompanist in residence for Leeds Conservatoire\, Durham University and for the BBC Proms held at the Glasshouse International Centre for Music. As a soloist and accompanist\, Alison has also performed at venues from the Wigmore Hall to the Palau de La Musica in Barcelona and Vienna’s Musikverein. \nAbout Classical Café  \nClassical Café is a series of Sunday afternoon performances at Middlesbrough Town Hall. Listen to classical music in a more informal and relaxed atmosphere\, enjoying coffee and cake while you listen! \nDoors open 2pm for refreshments. \nTickets £5 (+£1 booking fee)\, free for under 16s

SUMMARY:Performing Arts Holiday Club
DESCRIPTION:Explore drama\, music\, dance and movement in our Performing Arts Holiday Club for ages 6-14! \nOver two days\, we’ll learn to sing and dance to songs from popular films and musicals during the February half term break. \nIn the breaks you’ll have the option to play games as a group\, have a go on the dance mat\, or if you’d prefer a quieter activity\, there’ll be colouring or reading options too. \nOur tutor team:\nJenny – Movement & Dance lead\nJessica – Music lead\nLouise – SEN Music Specialist assistant \nOur team of tutors are experienced in working with young people of all ages and abilities. The team will be assisted by Louise\, who is a music specialist working with young people with SEND. Louise will be on hand to support young people in the group with additional needs – please get in touch to let us know about any specific support your young person requires. Your place includes a packed lunch for those in receipt of benefits related free school meals. \nPlease arrive 10 – 15 minutes early to sign in and get settled. Children can bring their own packed lunch\, or a packed lunch can be provided on the day. \nThis event is part of Middlesbrough Council’s Bring It On! holiday programme\, funded by the Department for Education. \nBring It On! is the new name for the holiday activities and food (HAF) programme in Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland. Bring It On! runs during the school holidays to offer free\, fun activities and food to children and young people aged 5 to 16 years. We understand that the school holidays can be a challenging time for parents\, and the HAF can help with this. HAF programmes aim to support low-income families\, particularly those in receipt of benefits related free school meals. \nTickets \nTicket options for the 2 days will be: free / £10.50 (optional lunch can be purchased £6 per day) \nIf your child is eligible for benefits related free school meals\, please book your free place on the EEQU booking system. Booking goes live on Monday 9th February at 12 noon. \nIf your child is not eligible for benefits related free school meals\, please book your paid place through the Town Hall website.

DESCRIPTION:Last year\, we hosted “Boro Sounds”\, bringing together some truly incredible bands from across Teesside to battle it out for the title of Middlesbrough’s best band. The energy was electric\, the talent unforgettable\, and the competition fierce. \nThis year\, we’re back — bigger\, bolder\, and better than ever. Expect a full evening of music for every taste\, from exciting new up-and-coming talent to your favourite local bands\, all taking to the stage as they compete for this year’s Best Band title. \nCome along\, find your new favourite act\, or scream along from the crowd. If you’re feeling brave\, jump on the open mic with a live band and live your main character moment! \nAt The Cells\, DJ Jamie Pell brings a late-night set\, with your favourite rave tunes. Bring your mates and enjoy his bold\, raw\, unfiltered set. \nMore music. More chaos.
