SUMMARY:Musinc Orchestra Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Middlesbrough Open Orchestra and Thursday Orchestra present ‘Past\, Present and Future’. \nExpect original compositions and group favourites\, new faces and old friends\, and a night of brilliant music. \nWe’re delighted to have Middlesbrough Open Orchestra back performing on home soil and are excited to welcome Thursday Orchestra for their debut performance. \nMiddlesbrough Open Orchestra is a collaboration between Musinc\, Beverley School\, Priory Woods School and Tees Valley Music Hub. Students from Beverley School and Priory Woods School have weekly music sessions in school as well as coming together regularly to play as an orchestra at Middlesbrough Town Hall. \nThe young people play music from a wide range of genres\, including classical\, contemporary and pop. They particularly enjoy creating soundscapes and original compositions alongside their orchestra leader\, Ben Hopkinson. \nSince its inception\, Middlesbrough Open Orchestra has been gaining both regional and national recognition for championing inclusive music making. The orchestra has performed at events such as Music For Youth’s Together For Music Festival 2025 in Birmingham\, Music & Drama Education Expo 2023 in London\, Music Mark National Conference 2022 and North East Culture Awards 2022 in Newcastle\, and Middlesbrough Council Civic Awards 2021. \nThursday Orchestra is a new ensemble for Disabled and Neurodivergent young musicians aged 16-25. The orchestra is a place for experienced and aspiring young musicians to come together and make music! The group meets weekly at Middlesbrough Town Hall\, and all musical instruments and abilities are welcome.

SUMMARY:Performing Arts Holiday Club
DESCRIPTION:Explore drama\, music\, dance and movement in our Performing Arts Holiday Club for ages 6-14! \nOver one day\, we’ll learn to sing and dance to songs from popular films and musicals during the May half term break. \nDuring breaks\, you’ll also have the option to play games as a group\, have a go on the dance mat\, or if you’d prefer a quieter activity\, there’ll be colouring or reading options too. \nOur tutor team:\nChristina – Music and dance co-lead\nElizabeth – Music and dance co-lead\nLouise – SEN music specialist assistant \nOur team of tutors are experienced in working with young people of all ages and abilities. The team will be assisted by Louise\, who is a music specialist working with young people with SEND. Louise will be on hand to support young people in the group with additional needs – please get in touch to let us know about any specific support your young person requires. Your place includes a packed lunch for those in receipt of benefits related free school meals. \nPlease arrive 10 – 15 minutes early to sign in and get settled. Children can bring their own packed lunch\, or a packed lunch can be purchased in advance. \nThis event is part of Middlesbrough Council’s Bring It On! holiday programme\, funded by the Department for Education. \nBring It On! is the new name for the holiday activities and food (HAF) programme in Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland. Bring It On! runs during the school holidays to offer free\, fun activities and food to children and young people aged 5 to 16 years. We understand that the school holidays can be a challenging time for parents\, and the HAF can help with this. HAF programmes aim to support low-income families\, particularly those in receipt of benefits related free school meals. \nTickets\nBooking will go live soon. Ticket options will be: free (including lunch) or £5.50 (contact us to purchase lunch in advance) \nIf your child is eligible for benefits related free school meals\, please book your free place on the EEQU booking system. \nIf your child is not eligible for benefits related free school meals\, please book your paid place through the Town Hall website.
