Careers panel and Q&A

Tuesday 21st June, 1pm-2.30pm, Free
Open to secondary schools and sixth forms
We want young people from the Tees Valley to aspire to do amazing things! There are so many career paths available in music and we want to highlight what young people can achieve in our area. Our panel of professionals will reflect the huge variety of professions, inspiring young people to think more about careers around their strengths and interests and pursue a career in music.
Each panelist will make a short introduction before the Q&A portion of the event. Questions for our panelists can be submitted in advance by schools, on behalf of the young people attending.
As part of Make Music Day, young people from Musinc’s Bandjam Senior group will be working with musicians from Skimstone Arts, a community arts and music organisation in Newcastle. The young people will be co-writing a song themed around ‘Healing’, supported by the musicians from Skimstone. The song will be performed at Middlesbrough Town Hall and will involve the Bandjam Senior (ages 16-18) group, Skimstone Arts band ‘Reality Boots’ and the groups coming together to perform the song they have written for the event.
