North East Opera

Mondays 4 – 6pm, during term time, at Middlesbrough Town Hall
Next term: 25th April β 18th July 2022 (11 weeks) except 2nd May and 30th May
Led by local professional opera singers Emily Smith and David Pisaro, North East Opera will offer exciting opportunities through workshops, rehearsals, concerts and theatrical productions, for performers facing barriers.
We use opera as a point of focus but with a whole load of other styles of music thrown into the mix – creating a wide variety of opera mash-ups.
Sometimes we slap an 80’s power ballad into the story line, or maybe a gospel song, or a song from the musicals, or maybe some punk, some funk, or a song from any corner of the globe… whoever comes to our sessions has the chance to direct, choreograph, or suggest material – if it works – we will use it!
We have a laugh – but are always professional achieving the highest standards possible.
