About the studio
Musinc is delighted to announce that its new recording studio at Middlesbrough Town Hall is now open and available for bookings.
The space is complete with professional quality instruments and recording equipment all available for dry hire (without a recording engineer) or wet hire (with a recording engineer).
The space can be used for rehearsal and/or recording.
The studio has its own dedicated entrance up a short set of stairs, a toilet and a kitchen space.

Booking process
- Email musinc@middlesbrough.gov.uk with the date, time, number of people, as well as a contact name, email and phone number. Please also include if you’d like to use our in-house Sound Engineer or if you’d like to bring your own.
- We’ll confirm if we’re able to accommodate your request and you’ll be asked to complete our studio agreement.
- If your booking has a hire cost, we’ll collect the details we need to arrange payment.
Hire Fees
Our recording space has been funded to enhance the professional experiences offered to young local musicians. Therefore our hire fees are dependent on who is using the space.
- Musinc Groups: Free
- Young People Under 18: Free
- Young People 19-25: £12 per hour
- Musinc Tutor with External Young People (Under 18): £12 per hour
- Musinc Tutor with External Adults (18+): £15 per hour
- Adults (25+): £17.50 per hour
If you are using the studio for recording purposes you can use our in-house sound engineer (wet hire) or bring your own (dry hire). Our in-house sound engineer is charged at £25 per hour.
Staffing and Safeguarding
Our studio assistant will be on hand throughout your hire to set up the equipment and walk you through anything you need to know.
They will also provide pastoral support for groups of under 18s using the space.
