Call out for musicians of all abilities at our Community Orchestra

Violinists and a flautist in an orchestra performing in front of an audience

Our free day of music-making involves orchestra workshops across the day, with a play-along performance to conclude.

Come and play with Musinc and The Cobweb Orchestra!

On Friday 28th February, we’re inviting musicians to take part in a free day of workshops at Middlesbrough Town Hall, finishing with a sharing performance. The day will be run in partnership with The Cobweb Orchestra, a friendly, open-access orchestra based in the North of England.

Our community orchestra is open to ages 8+ and all abilities, including those with SEND and neurodiversities. Participants are welcome to bring any instruments, including non-orchestral, although some previous experience is necessary.

Signing up is free – on our form, participants can explain about the instrument they play. They’ll also be able to include a description of their ability level so that we can ensure we have all the right music on the day. Don’t worry if you don’t read music – our tutors will be on hand during the day to support musicians who learn music through alternative methods.

The pieces will focus on family-favourite classical music, including tunes from well-loved films. The day will finish with a sharing performance for friends, family and anyone else who’d like to come along.
