Ellie’s placement
Being with Musinc for my work placement has been an amazing and joyful experience. I have learnt so much useful information about music and how it is used to bring people together for a fun and joyful experience. For example, Upbeat is a group of adults with disabilities and learning difficulties, who all come together to enjoy music and have fun as a group. It has been an absolute joy to experience this first hand.
Musinc has been a place for me to build my confidence and social skills in a working environment. For example, I am quite naturally a socially awkward and shy person but being able to take part in activities such as Upbeat and Bandjam has made me realise that taking part and talking to people or even asking questions isn’t as scary as it seems to be.
Musinc is definitely a place for everyone, (not only for work placement and to take part in the activities) as it really shows how everyone is welcomed – no matter who you are, and no matter who you are everyone is treated equally.
It has been an absolute pleasure to do my placement at Musinc and I would encourage other people doing work experience to try it as it teaches you what its like to work with various groups of people.
