Archived sessions: Youth Voice in Music – Online Training

A past CPD event based around youth voice with London-based charity Sound Connections.

Who is the training for?
Music Educators who work with children, young people or adults; we welcome existing or emerging community musicians, music leaders, school based and peripatetic music teachers, community based band and choir leaders.

Event Outline
This event is delivered in partnership between Musinc and guest speakers Sound Connections.

This CPD event will:
• Demystify and bring Youth Voice to life
• Refresh and upskill music educators
• Explore children and young people’s behaviour

Through presentations, group discussion and feedback the training will answer the following questions:
• Why adopt a young person centred approach?
• In sessions, what can music leaders do to support and encourage Youth Voice and a Young Person Centered approach?
• What can organisations do to support and encourage Youth Voice and a Young Person Centered approach?
• How do you find the right balance between young people leading projects and music leaders ensuring goals are realistic and activities are inclusive?
